    V-Lookup Dates

I currently have a workbook with a V-Lookup linked to another workbook.

    Feb 17: =VLOOKUP(A6,'X:\Current Status\02-Feb-2014\[Title - 140217.xlsx]Sheet1'!$A$6:$BN$893,63,FALSE)
    Feb 18: =VLOOKUP(A6,'X:\Current Status\02-Feb-2014\[Title - 140218.xlsx]Sheet1'!$A$6:$BN$893,63,FALSE)
    Feb 19: =VLOOKUP(A6,'X:\Current Status\02-Feb-2014\[Title - 140219.xlsx]Sheet1'!$A$6:$BN$893,63,FALSE)

I would like to know if there is a way that the workbook containing the above formula would auto-change the date (in bold) in the title every day to the current date. My guess is that it's something I'd have to continue to change manually, but I thought I'd ask.

you could try using the INDIRECT command, that will replace the bolded part and another cell with the TODAY() command so it can draw reference

I never got the INDIRECT command to work for me this way though, hopefully someone with better knowledge can help

Using INDIRECT would require that the linked file be open. This is usually not desirable specially if linking to many files.

There is a free add-in called Morefunc.xll that has a function called INDIRECT.EXT that works just like the built-in INDIRECT function except that the linked files do not need to be open. That might work.

The add-in can be downloaded here:
