    IF Formula advice

    Hey guys

As you may know im running a month like punctuality log for the buses in Bristol and I've got it laid out in a Excel spreadsheet, I just need a bit of help with formulas. I'll be referring to this screenshot: http://allhostone.co.uk/screencap/606ecebc.png

What im looking to do is have two columns (J and K) , One is "late" and the other is "early". As you can see in H6 the timetable says the bus will arrive at at 0725 and in I6 is when the bus actually arrived, 0731. Now what I want to do is if I6-H6 is equal to or greater than 1 I want it to be displayed in the J column in red (in this case J6) or if it is equal to or less than 0 I want it to be displayed in the K colunm in green (in this case K6).

Im not a great excel expert so thought I'd ask for a bit of advice. Let me know if you got any questions.

    Thanks

    "As you may know"
    How shall we know?

As for merit - the effect you want can be easily obtained in excel with conditional formatting.

PS. frank advice (excerpt from forum rules):
Post a WORKBOOK. Nobody wants to type data from a picture or paste text from your post into a spreadsheet as a prelude to helping. To attach a file, push the button with the paperclip (or scroll down to the Manage Attachments button), browse to the required file, and then push the Upload button.

I suggest you post a sample workbook instead of a picture of it. Not much anyone can do with a picture except look at it.

See the updated sample workbook. You should record real times rather than text strings.

Thank you so much! I see what you've done. As you can see in the other pages, is there a possibility to convert the 'text strings' to real times as I try it and it changes to 00:00:00

Edit: Playing around with it and I see how it works, yet again, thanks so much!

    Re: IF Formula advice

Sorry, it's tedious but probably just as quick to edit each of the times to add colons and change the format of the cell to Time.

A better option might be to copy and rename sheet 12 and then re-input the data from the earlier sheets.
