i have a countif formula as follows:
=countif($C$2:$C$7000,J1)
The range references cells with results from formulas. J1 references the result to a formula as well. This formula should yield "1" but returns "0" instead. Thanks.

check the information returned is not text or numbers and you are doing the opposite in J1
can you attach the spreadsheet ?

hey i figured out why it wasnt working properly. the data that my range referenced initially had "@ " and I used right/len-1 to get rid of it instead of right/len-2. there was a blank in front of the data that i could not see because of that slight mishap! thanks for your help though.
