Conditional Formatting - Arrows Up and Down Based on Cells

    Hi All,

I was just trying to figure out how to set the conditional formatting for arrows to be up, down or the same based on different cells value. I have included a sample of the page I am working on and cant figure out how to get the arrows to work correctly.

Any and all help would be amazing!

You attached an example of using arrows, but how is what you attached different than what you want to see?

Re: Conditional Formatting - Arrows Up and Down Based on Cells

Sorry about that. So if Test4 is below Test5 then I would like there to be an arrow up. If they are the same, then then the yellow arrow. Lastly if Test4 is higher then Test5 then there should be an arrow down.

    Can that be done?

Re: Conditional Formatting - Arrows Up and Down Based on Cells

Short answer is no. Longer answer is that it's possible to display the arrows the way you want but you have to create a new column using formulas, and format that column with the arrows. See attached.

The problem is that you can't use relative references for icon set rules, so you can't have a rule that compares a value to another value in the same row. However, you can create a formula in a new column that does the comparison, and then set the arrows based on <0, =0, and >0.
