get the SUM by using IF statement

    Hi,

As you see in my attached grid, in column A there is the name of the assigned person, for example: James. And in Column C the type of his request, whether it is Keying, QC, Admin.

My problem is I want to get the No. of Entities (located in Column E) for each person & with the respective type of request. For example James-Keying, James-QC, Joane-Keying. Something like that.

Hope you understand what I meant.

    Thanks,

    Perhaps try a Pivot Table?

Yes, something like that but I do not know how to build something like that. I will try that one.

Maybe this formula based approach would work for you.

There are many tutorials around for using Pivot Tables. For example at www.contexture.com
