Updating external link with new workbook name

    Hi All,

I have a file called Project Summary in which I have added formulas so it collates information from another source workbook. The problem is that the source workbook name changes everyday and therefore the formulas don't pull through the most up to date information.

I know I can manually edit the links and change the source but as far as I'm aware I have to do it a cell at a time and this is very time consuming as there are over 100 lines.

Is there any way I can get the file to ask me which file I want to select the source data for the whole workbook?

I don't know how to use macros but any help would be much appreciated!

    Many thanks,
    Sunshine

Are you hyperlinking via Ctrl+K or with the HYPERLINK function?

If you are using the function, it would be as simple as using Search & Replace on the entire worksheet/book.

Hiya, no I am using a COUNTIFS formula and asking it to pull data from the other source file. Please see example below.

    =COUNTIFS('[LBG Tracker.xlsm]Installed Devices'!$Q:$Q,T11,'[LBG Tracker.xlsm]Installed Devices'!$O:$O,$A$2)

Instead of doing it one cell at a time, you can instead just hit Ctrl+F and use the Replace function to do all of them instantly.

Thanks for that, that sounds pretty much straight forward so I will try that in a moment:-)

I have meanwhile encountered another issue.

I am using a file on the server which the workbook is picking up the values from. It was all working fine and I closed the file and went back in and all the formulas have the #ref error in.

    Any idea what's happened?
