    Conditional formatting with three criteria from another cell (help!)

    Hello, I am trying to use conditional formatting to highlight another cell green, yellow or red based on the value of another cell.

    Example:
    If G9 value is between 0 to 60 then D5 is highlighted GREEN
    If G9 value is between 61 to 90 then D5 is highlighted YELLOW
    If G9 value is above 90 then highlighted RED

    I was able to trigger the green criteria and the yellow but i just can’t get the red one triggered. Can someone assist please, I have searched and read what i could but still haven’t found an answer that can assist me.

    you need to add three rules into conditional format

    so click on D5
    conditional format
    formula

    use for each rule

    1) G9<=60 stop if true
    2) G9<=90 stop if true
    3) G9>90

    assuming you have excel version 2007 or above

    Re: Conditional formatting with three criteria from another cell (help!)

    Thanks for responding etaf, I looked at your solution and it seemed pretty logical to me and should work. However when i try it triggers everything except the red. If i enter a figure greater than 90 the D5 becomes blank in color. The other two criteria works. Green if G9 is 60 and under and yellow if G9 is greater than 61 but greater than 90 is not triggering, it just blanks out in color.

    Any other suggestions please,

    Oh and yes i did stop them if true as you had said i should.

    "Stop if true" is not necessary in this case.
    See attached. Does this work for you?
