    Vlook up

    Dear all

My vlookup command gives me #N/A. My vlook up variable is 149441MaxiTRANS Industries Ltd38047 and it is available in the dataset 149441MaxiTRANS Industries Ltd38047. Can you please advice me where it went wrong.

    =VLOOKUP(E2,'[M&A without Insider Trading_Parent company details.xlsx]Insider trading database'!$A$4:$AJ$3132,33,0)

    Thanks
    Shams

    Re: Vlook up

    Hi, mahershams,

item has to be found in the first column of the search matrix (in your sample that should be Column E, not A). If it´s located in another column than the first one use Index/Match instead of VLookup.

    Ciao,
    Holger

    Re: Vlook up

    Hi, Shams,

I have no idea why your or mine vlookup command do not work
    Altered formula for P2:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
    =IFERROR(VLOOKUP(E2,Sheet1!$E$1:$AJ$8,29,0),"")

Have a look at the attachment - works fine for me.

    Ciao,
    Holger.

    Re: Vlook up

    Hi HahoBe

May be I did not get you. When I use E4 instead of A4, now it shows #REF!

    Please suggest me.

    Regards
    Shams

    Hi Hahobe

Does it mean that vlookup could not able to retrieve the data without match function. Would you be able to advice me?
