Selecting data to view in different part of workbook by clicking individual heading.

    Hi

I want to create a list of headings in a workbook with links to different groups of information. For instance, I have a list of types of suppliers eg Ice cream, biscuits, lollies and flakes. Each heading has a list of suppliers in the work book. I want to click on the heading Ice cream and it would then display all suppliers including e-mails and phone numbers next to the list of headings. Then click another heading, the previous information disappears and the new supplier list appears.

The database has only a few entries at the moment so not worth looking at, but it will be quite a large file when completed. Sorry for dumbness I am using excel 2007 I have experience with excel5

    Sounds feasible in my head.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks

You can use a data validation drop down list to select the supplier.

We would need to see the data structure to be able to suggest as to how to generate the list.

Can you post a SMALL sample file?

About 20 rows worth of data is plenty.

    Thank you for your reply,

I did think that, but this has to be distributed around an office of 40 people, I would prefer a clickable list with the same formula for each supplier in the list, but different sections of data for each supplier in the list.

    Thanks

For a "clickable" list you're going to need to use VBA code. You can use a BeforeDoubleClick event macro.

I'm not much of a programmer so someone else will need to help you with this.
