Tally Cells differences from one column to another

I am working on a complicated problem. First I have data which has color that is colored manually based on whether they fall into a certain category. I need to count changes from one column to the next as well as if the cell color changes. Ultimately the color change means it needs to move into another category, but it would set off the other formulas. I want to count the changes but when those different colors are in the range of data I want to remove that from the analysis.

Excel cannot "see" colors, colors are formatting (like font, bold etc), and excel works with data. If there is some rule that would cause the cell to change color, we may be able to use that same rule for counting
