need help trying find discrepanices in my spreadsheet

hi, I have columns and rows of data and i want find a way to find the differences.

Is there a formula or function that will help find which item has the wrong vendor name? my example is below
item # description vendor price
1001 WIDGET VENDOR A 34
1001 WIDGET VENDOR A 34
1001 WIDGET VENDOR B 31
1001 WIDGET VENDOR A 34
1001 WIDGET VENDOR A 34

You would need another table that links item #s to vendors. Otherwise, how would you know which one was right.
If item #s are unique to vendors, you could use a vlookup using the item # to return the vendor name so you don't need the validation

I think you will need to provide more info that that. How do we (you) know whch is an incorrect vendor?

i would suggest you upload a sample work book, (all sensitive data removed), showing what data you are working with, a few examples of what your expected outcome is, and how you arrived at that
To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.
