Unhappy Creating a unique alphabetical list (using INDEX and MATCH functions)

    Hi,

I am trying to generate a uniquely sorted list from the data on another sheet. I am using an array formula listed below to do so. The raw data I am using is implemented in the Excel Table format (I can't change that as it helps us data management). However, when I run this formula in the data, it returns only the first item in the sorted list. The data I am using here is all text. The formula is -

    Formula: copy to clipboard

To test if I was using the formula correctly, I copied the column (TechnicianName) I am using to sort and display to another sheet, and executed the same formula with subtle changes (changed TechnicianName to the range), the same formula is completed flawlessly. Any insight into what I am doing incorrectly?

    With regards,
    mullahraheil.

P.S. - The data retrieved is also in the Excel Table format, but it didn't work even when I converted it to range.

well without your workbook its impossible to test
Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to make it clear what is needed. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are demonstrated, mock them up manually if needed. Remember to desensitize the data.

hmm it doesnt seem to work with named range no idea why
    but
    Formula: copy to clipboard

    works
ah the named range has a blank at the end if you change tecnicianname from ='October-2013'!$C$3:$C$139
    to
    ='October-2013'!$C$3:$C$138 it works
