Using Sumproduct or sumifs when a cell has a formula

Hi-

I am trying to use a sumproduct, but it returns a zero. Would this have anything to do with the fact that the numbers in the cells in column S are a formula? If so, any suggestions to fix?

=SUMPRODUCT((S9:S31)*(M9:M31="PH"))

Looks fine to me. Are you sure that there aren't any text and/or error values in S9:S31?
