Moving information from within a cell

Hi there,

Apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place - first timer...

I have hundreds of cells populated with references like this:

Deary IJ, Gale CR, Stewart MC, Fowkes FG, Murray GD. Intelligence and persisting with medication for two years: Analysis in a randomised controlled trial. Intelligence 2009;37:607-612.


Duggleby SL, Jackson AA. Cut-off points for anthropometric indices of adiposity: differential classification in a large population of young women. Br J Nutr 2009;101:424-430.


All information is within one cell.

What I need to do is create a new column with only the journal title - which is the only text that appears in italics (ie from above it is Intelligence, Br J Nutr .

Is there any way of doing this other than manually?!!

Hi and welcome

Couple questions:

1. Will the text always be before the number at the end?
2. Will the text always be after the 2nd last period (fullstop)?
