Lookup formula to add value of multiple instances

    Hi,
This is my first posting. Can anyone help?
I need to take a value in the same row from each instance and add them all together
For example: I need to add the values corresponding to item A in colum Value
    Item Value
    A 125
    B 200
    C 100
    A 50
    D 200
    E 100
    A 50
