Conditional Formatting Based on Values in another Cell

    Hi

I have a column of client states (F2:F48) that I would like to have automatically highlighted if a particular "F" cell's value matches one of the values in Q3:Q16.

I am using Excel 2010. I tried a conditional format based on "=MATCH(F12,Q3:Q16,0)" but it didn't work.

I also searched this formum for use of MATCH and FORMAT, but didn't find anything that would work, but then maybe I couldn't figure out how to apply it to my situation. Sort of a "conditional format" novice.

    I would appreciate any help.

    Thanks!
    Jim

I take it back. This solution is not 100% accurate. Would really appreciate help!

    Column AColumn B
    New YorkBoston
    CaliforniaChicago
    BostonCalifornia

Based on this example, I would like to conditionally highlight "California" and "Boston" in column A because they matched values in column B.

How can I do that, please???

    Hello
If your example data is in cells A2:B4, then the following conditional formatting formula applied to A2:A4 should work:

I needed to put $ in front of my lookup range column and rows! Duh!

    This worked. Thanks VERY much!

Yes, I thought that from your original post but when you said it was solved I didn't post a reply.
