My answer is calculated as follows:
100+100*29%*35% = 110.15
I need to apply a formula to the 110.15 to arrive at the 100. In other words, I have the 110.15 and the 29% & 35% but I don't know the 100. I hope this makes sense?
Thanks in advance

I have attached a sample file.
100+100*29%*35% = 100*(1+29%*25%) = 100.15
110.15/(1+29%*25%) = 100

I would consider this more of an algebra/pre-algebra question than an Excel question. Once you can solve the problem algebraically, putting that into Excel will be easy. I would suggest a quick review of the algebra skills needed to solve for an unkown would be useful, perhaps this ehow article will be a good start. http://www.ehow.com/how_4670890_solve-for-x.html

Hi Alan,
Please see attached.
I hope you don't mind but I have shown a corrected formula in cell A16 so it now shows 100.15.
And added a formula in A17 to give you the "100" that you wanted.
