    why is this a circular reference??

    Im Stuck....

    IN CELL B9
    =IF(B8="OFF",,IF(D5:D7=0,((MAX('[Records 2013-14.xlsx]Mileage'!$D$5:$D$250)+RANDBETWEEN(0,20))),(MAX(D5:D7))+RANDBETWEEN(0,20)))

    IN CELL C48
    =IF(B48="OFF",,SUM((MAX(D$5:D$250))+RANDBETWEEN(0,20)))
    ON THIS ONE I HAVE A DOUBLE ENDED BLUE ARROW POINTING FROM C48 TO D48

    IN CELL N2
    =SUM(MIN(Paydays!A4:Paydays!A12)-TODAY())

    IN CELL A4
    =IF(Shifts!B22-TODAY()<0,"",Shifts!B22)

    Records 2013-14.xlsx

    thanks

    Re: why is this a circular reference??

    nevermind guys, i sorted it. the problem was that i was referencing to the D column to get =IF(B48="OFF",,SUM((MAX(D$5:D$250))+RANDBETWEEN(0,20))), but the formula in d48 was =sum(c48+e48). when i corrected it it sorted all the rest for some reason....

    thanks anyway
