Finding and eliminating Duplicates - Excel 2010

    Hi Everyone,

I have a list of properties from a lead data base and I have a list of properties which have already been researched. I want to isolate the properties that have not been researched from the lead data base.
I created a simple Unique identifier which used the legal address of the property. I'm able to use the conditional formatting to highlight the duplicates, but when I go to delete them, it only deletes the duplicate, I need to delete the original as well.

    1. What is the best route to achieve isolating the NOT YET researched properties?

    OR, an idea I have...

    2. How do I formulate an IF Formula to say, if the value is highlighted (or isn't unique), return 1, if it is unique, return 0. then I can just go and delete the ones.

the list has several thousand records.

Assuming your lead database is in the range A1:A1000, and your list of properties are in column B, this formula in C1 (and dragged down) should work:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

The formula should actually be this:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

Essentially looks to see if the value in B1 is anywhere in the list in column A, and returns the # of times it occurs.
If the number of times it exists in column is 0, then it is unique, and the formula returns "0". If it exists anywhere in the list in column A, the formula returns "1".
