Auto update of formulas from external workbook

I'm currently using a workbook that contains a lot of call data. (say its RAW)

In another sheet I'm wanting to use AVERAGEIFS based on the information found in the RAW book.

The problem is that the formula only works when RAW is open. I have used the full file path.

Is there a way around this?

gave a good example but it confused me..

The 2 workbooks wont be in the same folder.. if that makes a massive difference?
