    Re: Index match

    Hi,

I don't think you need an INDEX/MATCH formula for what you are trying to do. In cell G2, you should try
    Formula: copy to clipboard

    and drag the formula down.

    Hope this helps

EDIT: Oh and the reason it is bringing down the same value every time is because the MATCH formula will return the FIRST occurrence of a match, which in the range "$E$2:$E$10" will always be row 3, thus "333" will be returned every time.

    Re: Index match

This isn't a case where INDEX/MATCH should be used,
    Try In G2, drag/fill down
    Formula: copy to clipboard

    [EDIT]
However as you are learning how to use INDEX/MATCH

Try this array formula in G2, Confirm with CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER before dragging down.
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

This will work for 2007 and above.
