    IF function with cell reference array formula?

    IF(countif($A$1:$A5,A1)=1,B1) but IF(countif($A$1:$A5,A3)=2,C1)

    I tried,

    {=IF(countif($A$1:$A5,A3)={1;2;3;4;5},{B1;C1;D1;E1;F1})} but doesnt seem to work?
