I currently have a large database which includes phone numbers in the format NNNNNNNNNN, I know I can easily change to (NNN) NNN-NNNN; however for a printing project I need them to be in the format NNN.NNN.NNNN using the "." separator between Area Code, Prefix, and Suffix. Is there a formula I can use to do this, or a Macro? I have Excel 2010.
You can do it by formula:
=LEFT(A11,3)&"."&MID(A11,4,3)&"."&RIGHT(A11,4)
