    Conditionally format a formula result

I am trying to have a formula result that returns a negative number turn red, and a positive number turn green. When I conditionally format the cell, I always get a green value, even when the number is negative. I have both rules applied to the cell, but only the first rule applies.
The formula I have =IMSUB(N22,M22) is in cell O22. I am asking for the steps to follow to apply this conditional formatting to the formula result. Thank you!

Why not use a simple Custom Format like [Green]0.00;[Red]-0.00

It is still not working. I believe the formula entered into the cell is blocking the formatting. It does change color when I directly enter a value into the cell. Thank you.

initiate a value() in your formula something like

    =value(IMSUB(N22,M22))
then the conditional formatting given by Pepe

Pepe Le Mokko suggestion should work with formula cell too... Check whether your formula is outputting TEXT number instead of real number.

If possible just post the formula for our views....
