Help with formula for adding and subtracting time

Hi there I am new to this forum and haven't had to use Excel since high school so I am having a difficult time with this formula. As you can see by the worksheet I uploaded I am trying to subtract lunch minutes (column F) from Total Hours at work (column E) and have this result shown in Column G.

Lunch breaks are normally 30 minutes however I cant even get Excel to read 30 minutes accurately

I would like to be able to type in just the minutes like 30mins or 45 mins for lunch and have that subtracted from the total hours.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and hopefully I am being clear on my problem and my needs. Thanks again in advance

Enter the lunch break as 0:30 for 30 minutes, or 0:45 for 45 minutes, and so on.

That helps a ton Pete however the people who will be using this program to send in their timecards are even more excel illiterate than i am so to get them to remember to write it as 0:30 will be a struggle LOL! Is there no way to write it as simply 30 and have excel switch it to the correct value?

Format column F as General, and put this formula in G13:

=E13-F13/60/24

Then you can enter 30 or 45 in column F, and G will show the correct answer.

Also one more thing.....when adding up the totals on e30....as soon as the number of hours in columns e13 through e28 reaches 24 it resets to 0. So it isnt actually keeping a total of hours worked its just tracking time. I know my formula must need to be changed so any help is much appreciated. And thanks for putting up with very newbie questions
