Excel dates and formulas equal weird sort issues

Making a press release timetable based on dates that events are happening this year. So event A happens on 10/21/2013, which I put into a cell at the bottom of the sheet, let's call that cell B 92. Then various press releases are timed based on formulas that refer to that cell. So Press Release 1 is dated =B92-21 So it shows a date exactly 3 weeks before the Event. The result of that formula is fine, it shows Sept. 30. So far so good. All these formulas are in column D.

Now I have a lot of Events, so a long list of dates, all based on formulas, all in column D. I try to sort by dates, so I go to Data tab, Sort, and sort by Column D, oldest first. My formulas now change! The formula that read =B92-21 as in the above example now reads =C25-21. Any ideas on this?
