    How to extract from cell

Hi, do you know the formula so that I can extract only the name out of the following: Rashna [Kapoor].

i.e. so that I do have "[" and "]" included anymore, please not as well that I have a different list of names where the "[" and "]" are in different positions, therefore is there one formula that I can use to only extact the name.

    Help much appreciated

Do you want the formula to display:
    Rashna
    or
    Kapoor
    Gary's Student

With the data in A1, in another cell enter:

    =TRIM(SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(A1,"[",""),"]",""))
