sumif of partial text with a chink in the chain

    Hi there-

Edit - The spreadsheet has been attached

Edit 2 - A Macro is great too! The download tab will look the same, it will just be more rows.

So I know how to sumif with partial text using &"*", but I am running into a weird problem.LOB.xlsx

In the first tab, I want to sumif by date from the download tab, but then it also needs to be for those specific companies. This is all fake data by the way. If you look in the download tab under customer name it has asterisks. I tried to do a sumif using the third tab as the lookup value of Orlando Util. I only get back one of the values when not using the date.

So basically, I am trying to do a formula where it looks at the date, then looks within the customer name within that specific time period, and adds everything up by looking at the partial names since they essentially contain the same thing, but a few of them are leaving off a few letters.

Also, just for my excel growth, what is a formula that ignores the dates, and just adds up, say the two utilities, through the partial text by looking at the LOB reference tab?

    Thanks!!!
