Linking problem

Hello!

I have a problem to solve, but i cannot figure it out how.

As you can see in the picture below in Row A i have numbers: 1, 2, 3 ... The goal is to link each of them in another row, but after each cell which contains a number there should be an empty cell.

If i manually link first cells (C1=A1, C3=A2, C5=A3 etc.) and then mark them and extend the pattern it seems that pattern is broken (cell C9 should be =A5 instead of =A9).
