    Averageifs with multiple criteria

Hi, first of all I'm sorry I'm new to this forum, I know a bit about formula but still very much a newbie so if I have posted in the wrong place, my apologies.
I am trying to use Excel 2010 and averageifs but need it to average 2 different criteria from the same range.
    This works for 1 criteria
    =IFERROR(AVERAGEIFS('Ct14;2012-13;Y5; Reading'!H6:H16,'Ct14;2012-13;Y5; Reading'!B6:B16,"SEN"),0)
but I also want it to recognise SEN+ from the same range and average the value of the cells.
    Thanks in advance

    jbillyo,

    Welcome to the forum!
If your data only has SEN and SEN+ as items that start with SEN, then you could use a wildcard (the asterisk) as the criteria: "SEN*"
    Hope that helps,

Thank you to you both for the quick response. The * worked brilliantly.
    Thanks again
