    Counting Formula Troubles

I am having trouble creating a forumla to do this:

If cell U2 has "Complete" in it count it as one and if cell V2 has "Complete" in it count it as one, causing cell W2 to show "2".

If cell U2 has "Incomplete" in it count it as zero and if cell V2 has "Complete in it count it as one, causing cell W2 to show "1". (and vice versa)

    Re: Counting Formula Troubles

you can use an IF statement
    in W2

=IF(AND(U2="Complete",V2="complete"),2,IF(OR(AND(U2="incomplete",V2="complete"),AND(V2="incomplete",U2="complete")),1,"what to do for other combinations"))
