Date format to read YYYY/MM/DD in function box

    Hello,

I have dates in the cells formated as YYYY/MM/DD.
But in the function tool bar above, it reads M/DD/YYYY.
I know you can change this in the regional language settings in the control panel of Windows, but I would need to put it to English (South Africa).
Is there a way to not change the regional settings and have the toolbar read as per the cell format? YYYY/MM/DD?

    Thank you.

No, the formula bar contains the actual value as it's viewed by Excel (and in turn by the computer itself)

You could however store the date as a TEXT string, but then it would not really be considered a date, just text.

Format the cell as TEXT, then Re-Enter the date as 1/16/2014

Hi, I can't put the date as Text and rewrite it, because I have a huge file with formulas that return dates. I can't write over them one by one the new dates in text format.

Well, if they're formulas that return dates, then they don't show as dates in the formula bar, you only see the formula.

Anyway, sorry the only way to change how dates appear in the formula bar is in the Regional Settings in Control Panel.
