create formulas and functions on excel

    Hi Guys,

I'm looking for some assistantance with excel. I have been attempting to set up the following but have had no luck:

    Basically,

'in the first box I would to type a start date

'Second box should find or show the available info for that date range (the range of dates and info will be available to use for fomulas)

'Third box should then generate a 'a link or file path for the correct set range of data I have listed'

Now, I need some assistance as to how to set this up on excel, any ideas?

    Thank you.

    Hi salgunaidi

You do not say where the "available info" is located nor what the date range is.

It will probably help everyone if you post a sample of what you have and what you want (ensuring that there is no sensitive data included). In this way the answer can be specific to you situation.

To attach a file, go to to Reply and then Go Advanced where you can attach a file.

    Thanks for your response.

The "available info" is stored on a shared database, so as soon as you click the link it will automatically direct you the right info.

I have attached an excel sheet as a sample of how it should work, hope it helps.

Re: create formulas and functions on excel

    Hi salgunaidi

I have been working on this and realise that I need to know:

    - The dates in the shared data - presumably it is just one date (rather than a range of dates) for each report
    - Could there be 2 reports with the same date?
    - What is the maximum number of lines that you want to come back
    - How many lines of data are there in this shared data file?

    Regards
    Alastair
