formula for adding up hours on a time sheet

ok, I suck at excel- even with an "Excel for Dummies" book.....

I have four columns: first one has start time- second one has time break started-third one has time break ended- and the fourth has end time

I want the fifth column to have the total hours worked that day. I thought that a simple: C15+F15-(D15+E15) would do the trick- not so much

can anyone help me with how to make this work? And also this is a biweekly time sheet, so I would have to write this for each row with it's respective letters?

Re: formula for adding up hours on a time sheet

What I'm looking for is to have the last cell add up the hours worked in that day, minus the break time. I have been talking to others and it seems like the formulas would become quite complicated in order to get the result I'm looking for. It is official that this is wayyyyy over my head and I will never be able to do it on my own. Oh well, I will just have to figure out another way.

Thanks for your responses though! I appreciate your time.
