verifying if each spreadsheet tab contains all the needed information

I have two tabs within a spreadsheet. I would like to make sure that all cells which are in Column A in TAB1 are also in TAB2. I'm thinking that I need to combine a vlookup and IF formula
    Example
    TAB1
    Cell A1: AA150
    Cell A2: BB676
    Cell A3: AA483

    TAB2
    Cell A1: AA483
    Cell A2: AA150
    Cell A3: BB561
    Thanks!

I would think a conditional formatting formula applied to all the column A cells would work, or a similar formula in column B.

In B1, try this, copied down:

    =IF(A1="", "", ISNUMBER(MATCH(A1, Tab2!A:A))

That will give you a TRUE match for each value in column A that is also in column A of Tab2.
