Hi All,
Though a not a complex problem, however struck at the moment.
I want to split my yearly sales based on the profit % of each Quarter. Attached spreadsheet can help to understand this more clearly.
Any thoughts ?
Thanks

Expert out there, any suggestions ?
Hello welcome to the forum..
isn't hat if you split it half that's a 50-50 percentage, you want 25% more for Q2 so that is 25-75 %split?
why not just multiply the number by 75% and 25%?
in c3=600 * 25%
in d3=600 * 75%
or just subtract the outcome from the body
in D3
in D3=600*25%
=600-c3
I think people forget the word "THANK YOU!!!!" Do you still know it???

Thanks Vlady.
I only have the "%increase number" from Quarter 1 & don't have the net sales figure. To get the net sales figure of Q1 and Q2, I have to divide the total sales in such a manner that it will spread evenly across Q1 and Q2, based on the increase in percent ( of Q1 ).
Hence, Q2 = the net sales of Q1 + 25% more of Q1
Hope this can help!
If someone is interested to check how I solved.. Spilit number based on %age.xls
A little simplified..
In D2
=B2/(1+1+F2)
In G2
=B2/(1+1/(1+F2))
Life's a spreadsheet, Excel!
