Problem with MAX

Hello,

Please see the attached sheet and in particular Cell S20. For some reason the Max function doesn't seem to work and if you drag the formula from above or below it gives a totally different figure. Any ideas welcome.

You have a circular reference. The formula in H3 is =H3

It looks to me like the problem is due to the fact that cell H3 contains a formula which is simply =$H$3
That formula points to the cell that the formula is in, which causes a circular reference. Anything dependent on that cell will cause calculation problems. I just changed cell H3 to be the number 21 instead of a formula and then the MAX function seemed to work just fine...
