Hi guys,
figures scraped from the web look something like - C1=2-4-11 C2=2-7-13 C3=1-5-11. When I select column C and go Replace "-" with "" I get an error telling me that Microsoft Office cannot find any data to replace..... I'm sure I've done this before, but can't find the workbook that I had.
Any ideas?

Hi and welcome to the forum
When I enter that data into a workbook, I have to enter it formatted as text, otherwise it sees the data as dates. As dates, - does not exist in the cell, and if I enter it as text, find/replace worked just fine?

2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools

It worked fine for me as well, using your file
Now I'm totally confused - it's working for me again too.... Trying to figure what I did wrong

Thats OK, we have all been there, let us know how you make out?
May be my assumption is you might have selected some other cells while doing Find & Replace, so the task is getting applied on those selected cells alone, I believeOriginally Posted by Denno
Good point Six, I have done that before too, and thought...what the heck, I can SEE the thnk I want changed...only to find I had a range selected elsewhere lol
