simple equation but getting formula error

Also covnert the values to real numbers..

Again, formatting does NOT change the underlying value. It just changes the way XL shows it to you. Text stays text

As above, your numbers are stored as text, how this has come about I don't know, did you copy the table from somewhere?

If you remove the formatting, your formula works, it can also be coerced by re-entering the formula.
