    Sumif or ifs? two variables

    Hi,
Refer attached sheet. Do I use sumif, sumifs or sumproduct here? I would like F6 in 'Monthly Financials' to sum all of the values in the overheads sheet that relate to the description and date. For example the total Administration costs for July 13 is X, Misc costs for July 13 is Y. Please advise.
    Many Thanks,
    PERE

    Hi PERE,

You can put this formula into cell F39 in the 'Monthly Financials' sheet:
    =SUMIF(Overheads!$B$6:$B$84, $C39, Overheads!E$6:E$84)

Then drag this formula across row 39 all the way to Q39.

Then highlight cells F39 to Q39, grab the bottom right corner in Q39, and drag all the formulas down to Q58. That should provide all the total cost numbers for all categories for all months.

Please let me know if that works for you.
