Recognizing Revenue month over mont for a multi month contract

    Hello,

I have a question that most of the people in here will think is a breeze. I am trying to track revenue over a multi month contract. For example, If I have a $30,000 contract, the services start on 5/1/13 I recognize 1/6 in May, 1/3 in June, July and 1/6 in August, ending on 8/14/13. I have attached what I have done so far but am getting stuck on how to roll it over month to month. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Ron

    Hi DILIPandey,

Thanks for the reply, I wish I could say there was just a single cell that I needed the help on. I am trying to have the ability to plug in a full budget, put in the start and end dates and have the spreadsheet calculate the budget by month according to the amount of days it runs per month. We have to abide by GAAP in recognizing revenue when the services are rendered. I hope this helps answer your question.

    Thanks again!
