    V/h lookup? Matching a number from a range then defining as another number

    Hi, all!

    Okay; this is one of those that, when I see the answer, I'm probably going to slap my forehead (Doh!). But, right now, I can't get my brain around it.

    I need to progress a group of people's personal quota set (each has a different amount -- 1 through 60). However, there is a larger number set from which this is calculated.

    So, basically:

    Joe = 225
    Jane =130

    If number is between 0 - 100 = 1
    If number is between 101 - 200 = 2
    If number is between 201 - 300 = 3

    So --
    Joe = 3
    Jane = 1

    I started to run the larger ranges of numbers in a VLOOKUP -- but my brain fizzled out on how to get the 1 - 60 number out of that. Yep; I'm aware. Way too simple. I hate brain-freeze.

    Use the LOW END numbers of the ranges in a lookup..

    =LOOKUP(A1,{0,101,201},{1,2,3})

    Hope that helps.
