Looking for a formula to pull certain values from one column and put into another column

    Hi

Long story short, I have this large text document I am trying to parcel date from. I imported it into excel and I need a formula that will look at column A and only pull a certain value and populate into column B but keep repeating that value down the column until the formula gets to a new value I wanted in column A and switches to that value and continue. This would be the same scenario for Column C and D. I have an example of what I wanted to end up with. Thank you for any help the forum can provide

The only thing that stands out as to what value should be repeated is that those cells are highlighted yellow.

A formula using only the built-in worksheet functions can not see colors so this can not be done as is with only the built-in worksheet functions.

You will need some form of VBA to do this or, you would need to identify the target entries some other way. Maybe in another column enter an "X" beside the target cell?

Re: Looking for a formula to pull certain values from one column and put into another colu

The Highlights were just to illustrate what I was looking for not part of the solution to my problem. The Blank Columns B and D I wanted to put in a formula that would produce what I am showing in red as an example of what the end product I am looking for. In column A the cell values A12 "ON US T" and A22 "GRAND T" and A91 "FOREIGN T" I want to populating running down Column B changing as the formula hit a new value in the other column. In column C the cell values C3 "KB0000" and C34 "KB0003" and C65"KB0208” I wanted the same to have Column D running down and changing every time it hits a new value in the other column and then changed to that one. I am not very good with formula and I don't know how to us a VB or Marco script I did have a formula for this but I lost it changing to new work computer. I spent all day Saturday trying to find a forum where this question was answered but I couldn't. If someone can point me an answer link or web site that would be great.

Okay I think i'm kind of with you! so as far as I can see when the "Formula" gets to the "Yellow Cell" or "Different Name" you want it to put that name in column B until it gets to the next "Yellow Cell" or "Different Name"?

Yes that is correct the 3 "Names" are what I want to pull from Column A and load into Column B.
