Rolling sum of 12 months against each month based on two criteria

    Hi....

I am preparing a table which is referencing data from another sheet (Sheet2) containing all information (COuntry, month, type etc).
IN the table i have kept Months and i need to create a rolling average against each month by referencing from (sheet2). I have attached an example sheet with this thread.

Appreciate if any one can solve the problem.

    Regards
    Abhishek

your example is not very clear - you should provide some expected results. for e.g., is 'rolling 3 month' current month minus 2 or minus 3? should rolling months' calculations filter by 'sales' / 'stock' or include both?

anyway, here is a simple and extensible formula. you should be able to adapt the components of this formula to your needs fairly easily.

this one is for Rolling 3 Month and goes into Sheet1!D4:

change the highlighted -2 to -11 to get Rolling 12 Month values and put the formula in Sheet1!E4.

then, highlight both and drag-fill down.

you will need Analysis Toolpak Add-in installed for this to work.

    UPDATE:

another version using MMULT - applicable to Rolling 3 Month,

CSE, aka Array aka { }, formulae are confirmed with CONTROL+SHIFT+ENTER.
Replace commas ( , ) with semicolons ( ; ) in formulae, if your locale setting demands.
All good ideas are courtesy resources from this forum as well as others around the web.
