Splitting out a cost by date

Hi there,

First post.

I am creating a cost tool. Currently the costs are divided into categories by supplier (IT Supplier 1, IT Supplier 2 etc. along the X axis.) Along the Y axis I then have date ranges i.e. 12/1/13 - 15/6/13. Is there a way excel can take the cost per IT Supplier and split it across the date range by month?

To have better idea of what you want
are you able to supplier a sample file data along with expected results

The plan is to have Sheet 2 showing the spread of cost broken down by Supplier and date range. The date ranges come from Sheet 1.

sorry gave it a crack, a bit beyond my level
More complicated then i imagined
at most i can get the calculation for working days in month but that's with "alot" of extra data entry on the side already
even then i still not calculating the "edge" (start and finish) months correctly
