    Conditional Formatting and Formulas

    Hello,
I would like to color the cells in the A column if columns C through V are empty. I want no color if at least one of those columns has an "X" in it. I have tried variations using If and Countif formulas. I have attached a snippet of the table. Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

    Re: Conditional Formatting and Formulas

    Here one that works...

In conditional formatting use Formula Option and, in the cells you want highlighted, use formula-based formatting with

=(COUNTA(ColumnsC-X)=0 (COUNTA counts non-blank cells in a range and Zero return means all blank)
