Equation That Finds Part of a Text

Hi All,

I need an equation that will read a cell and look for a part of a text and if it is found it will return a Y for yes or a N for no.

Please let me know if I can provide you with anymore information to help me solve this equation.

=IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("def","abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz",1)),"y","n")

One way...

A1 = Let's Go Pens!

You want to know if the string "Pens" is located anywhere within cell A1.

=IF(COUNTIF(A1,"*Pens*"),"Y","N")

Case is not relative.
