Calculating date difference to today

Hi, I have one column showing the date a project was started, and I want to show in the next column how many weeks/days it has been going on, so basically calculating the difference between the start date and today's date. Does anyone know how to do this? Many thanks

Hi Peta,

welcome to the forum.
You can use below formula in column B :-

=TODAY()-A1
and format the cell as general

If you need the result in weeks, just divide the formula results with 7 ... like =(TODAY()-A1)/7

Thanks for this - I've found when I try that, that I get a date in the box, not a number. The date I'm starting with is 18/01/2013 and after applying your formula to the next cell, it's giving me '25/04/1900' as the result - do you know why this could be? Sorry, I'm sure it's my mistake! Thanks

Try formatting that result cell as "General"
