Awarding a value to a cell based on a date

This one is kind of difficult to explain but I'm attaching a great example. I need a cell to populate 8 hours every time that a date passes and for that 8 hours to add to every full time employee throughout the year. I also need this date and the reason code it is assigned to populate on the report tab that you will see on the example.

This is a very complex spreadsheet to me and without my helper, Lem, it wouldn't be possible. So, in case you think I completely understand the formulas already used, I'm sorry but I don't. It was his genius that help me create this monster. With that being said, I'm hoping that he looks at this... lol.

    Thank you!

It should populate just as the rest of the information does. I maybe should've added to my example.

Go to the schedule tab and choose an employee for January. It doesn't matter which one. Put V8 on the cells representing Jan 2nd, 3rd & 4th. Now, go to the reports tab and choose that same employee. Make sure January is selected for the month and you will see all of the days you scheduled will populate automagically. Since this employee is Full Time. He/She should also show 8 hours of H (holiday) pay for January 1st.

    1. add h8 in "schedule" sheet in front of all ft-employee when the date in "year calender" sheet cross
    2. want to show the same in reports sheets

you want both these 1st & 2nd condition to be fullfilled, or any one of these....?

Lem, not quite.... The "H" code already worked just as all the other codes did. However, to use it in that manner means I would have to manually enter all employees on the Schedule with H8 for every holiday throughout the year. It's would be too time consuming.... plus, I would have to make each month on the schedule much larger to accommodate every single employee. What I'm trying to achieve is that anytime we have a paid Holiday (those dates I have on the year calendar), All FT (Full-Time) employees automatically receive 8 hours of H (Holiday). These hours should be reflected on the Reports tab and the Employee Data tab.

    Hope that makes more sense!

Again, this isn't a huge deal. If it's too much trouble, I can work around it. You've definitely done more than enough already

    Thanks!

Re: Awarding a value to a cell based on a date

If you select an Employee and a month with at least a holiday in your Year Calendar worksheet, the report tab will automatically include that holiday and the hours.

For testing purposes, I cleared the "FT" status for Bob Mullins (row 5, Employee Data Sheet). If you select that Employee and January, the report works like before. However, if you select any other Employee with FT status and January for example, you will see the January 1st being pulled in already, without you have to put anything in the Schedule worksheet.

Try to put in any kind, H5, V7, PD9, etc to Curtis McGregor on row 8, Schedule worksheet, and select him on the report tab, you will see that everything is being pulled in plus the January 1st. You can also test it with any other month with a holiday in your holiday list.

Lem... Sorry, I jumped the gun. I had only tested "Bob Mullins" and didn't remember to check to see if he was "FT" for testing purposes.

Once again, you've amazed me! How you can figure things out so quickly is really astonishing. I appreciate you so much for all your efforts and your help! I can't thank you enough

As usual, I'll put the whole workbook together and let you know if there are any issues. I'm sure it'll be just fine, though

    Have a great evening, Lem!

Abu... Thank you for taking a look. Lem had worked on this so much, he was bound to figure it out

    Thanks guys!
