Counting number of repetitions of a number in a column?

my name is idowu, im from Nigeria , im 35 i dont know any thing about excel
i need step-by_step guide on Counting number of repetitions of a number in a column?

=COUNTIF($A$2:$A$500,B2)

Where :-
the range $A$2:$A$500 is your column of numbers
B2 is the cell containing the value you want to count

I'm very happy for the fast response,
so i want you to see the attached file, that
is what i saw in these forum and it is exactly
what i needed but i don't really knows anything
about excel i think may be some one can just
help me to put the macro on my own edited file so
what i have in mind is after entering all my numbers
that i will just click a button and i will have my
result immediately, actually i want to use it for
lotto programing, the pool of the numbers are not beyond 1 to 90
so i like to know how many times each numbers had appear..
